DRIVER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

WHY WE OFFER INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Since 2004 we have offered Driving Instructor training to combat the poor tuition being given as well as the massive costs being charged by the so called “bigger” companies. Our quality tuition, honed from real experience teaching for over 20 years includes "one to one" and "pay as you go". So you only have yourself in the car and the cost can be spread out over a period of time. We became ORDIT registered in early 2008, please click the ORDIT link above for more information.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE QUALIFICATION PROCESS

Part 1 - We recommend home study for the Theory and HPT, you will have full support throughout and we can supply all books and study material if required. To pass, you must achieve an overall pass mark of 85% with no less than 80% in each of the 4 different categories, as well as 57 out of 75 in Hazard Perception.

Part 2 - An hour’s drive to advanced level with a maximum of 6 minor faults recorded to pass. You may use your vehicle or ours.

Part 3 - During the test, you will have to give instruction and demonstrate your ability to assess and correct driving errors that you see. The test uses role-play, the examiner simulates the learning driver at different stages of training. Your task is to sort out any problems you see and develop new skills. Part 3 is split into 2 phases lasting approximately 25 minutes each.

During Phase 1 the examiner will play the part of the learner with little or no experience at all of the subjects you are asked to teach. You will be assessed on your ability to match your instruction to the level of the pupil portrayed. Observe and correct any errors and maintain a safe, controlled learning environment.

During Phase 2 the learner will be closer to test, so you will be expected to match your tuition to suit along with plenty of questions and answers. We advised all 3 parts should be linked together while learning, not done separately.
